Looks like I'll have to redo my backup system.

Hard drive started howling. Oh well, it was time to upgrade the OS anyhow, had XP Pro X64 on it.
Trying to decide if I should just clone my main system with 7 since it's all the same hardware or use my copy of 8 that I got for evaluation a year ago. If I use 8 I'll have to tweak the shit out of it to make it work right.

If your machine is capable, you could install Windows 8 and jtuck004 Jun 2014 #1
Why bother? As far as that goes XP X64 was doing everything I was doing on it. hobbit709 Jun 2014 #2
You are right, of course. Some people shouldn't bother. n/t jtuck004 Jun 2014 #3

run Client HyperV and run Windows 7 in that, or install Windows 7 and run VirtualBox, run Windows 8 in that.

All I want or need is an OS that works, runs the software I use, and doesn't get unstable. XP was fine for that.
I have no need to run multiple OS's on a machine.
