Who else does the Windows Insider program ?

If you do, please rec the thread. You don't even have to make a post. I'm simply curious.

https://insider.windows.com/

For the record, Mac OS X, Linux and FreeBSD, et al are all good operating systems. Windows is just my preference. Different strokes for different folks, etc etc.

Have a wonderful computing day.

I do not because I don't know anything. I know how to use what I use and the rest is all hit and miss. I google for answers and instructions and then do it. If I thought there was any way to help I would have done it.

I do hate Mac. I learned on a Mac but then switched because I wanted a laptop to haul around and was not interested in paying for a Mac laptop. I began to really like Windows. I was not crazy about Vista and then was give a MacBook that I used until I could not stand it any longer and got this Samsung with 8.0 on it. At this point I love much about W10. It's browser Edge is sleek enough that I can actually stream TV and movies on it with our very very tiresomely slow speeds out here in the country. My husband cannot do that with the browsers on his Mac.

If they are looking for old ladies with 0 tech skills to give old lady advice I would do it in a heartbeat because I think that is an important feature. Sorry so windy, all you wanted to know was yes or no. It is no but would be happy to if I thought I could add anything.

Thank you for doing it. I think I did add my rec anyway just for your community minded thread.

The main bad thing about the program is the fact that you are using BETA software, which can be a pain in the ass at times. I kinda like that sort of thing, usually. If I had to operate a business etc I would never do it on my production machine, only a beta testing machine.

That's the forum for we beta testers. If you do join, just back up your data to a thumb drive or external backup drive. I enjoy learning about computers, so that's one of the reasons I do it. Thanks for the rec!

you are welcome and I see now that I do not have any business doing any of this. I still am completely unsure how to back up this computer. I do have an external but I am never sure what to put on it and never sure what actually gets on it. It was much easier with the Mac to be able to clone it. I have looked and have never found anything like that for Windows, it is the one thing that I did like about the Mac. That would be a very nice addition, it was simple that way and everything you ever set up was there when you used it.

1- click Start button in lower left hand corner

2- click Settings

3- click Backup (on Update and Security icon)

4- Click Backup on the left

5- click Automatically back up my files

6- It will prompt you to choose a drive to use to backup your files. That can be a thumb drive (portable USB drive you simply plug into a USB slot on your computer)

7- then click More Options under the Auto back up my Files

8- You can click Back Up Now if you wish.

So there's Backup in Windows 10. If you still don't want to do the Insider Program, I understand.

Thank you. I do just fine as long as everything works. I will do what you have said here and then see about the program. It might be fun? Still, thank you for doing that and for posting this for me.
