Man allegedly finds prostitute, lands in jail

The man who allegedly mistook a teenage girl for a prostitute last week was arrested after reportedly telling police he eventually found the prostitute he was seeking.

Charles Richard Sargent, 57, was charged Monday with prostitution and parole violation. Sargent is registered as a sex offender after being convicted in 2007 of assault with intent to commit sexual abuse.

The trouble started for Sargent Friday morning when someone called police and said a man was trying to lure a girl who appeared about 13 years old into his pickup truck near 30th Street and Hickman Road.
