Inmate smuggles drugs via her vagina

In one recent Wexford County case, drugs made it successfully through in hiding — that is, until an inmate became gravely ill, authorities say.

Stacey Lynn Youngs, 33, was booked into the Wexford County Jail June 3 on a probation violation. Shortly after, another female inmate in her cell became gravely ill and was "rushed" to the hospital. Corrections officers later learned the female inmate had overdosed on drugs, Wexford Prosecutor Anthony Badovinac said.

The woman who overdosed had been booked into the jail for long enough that officers knew — those drugs had to have come from another source.

That turned out to be Youngs' vagina, Badovinac said.

Deputies learned Youngs had smuggled an estimated 80 pills through the jail's intake area by concealing them inside her body.

Those drugs included Trazodone, Gabapentin and Clonazepam. Clonazepam is an anxiety medication and a class four controlled substance.
