Chelsea Clinton says she won’t let politics get in the way of her friendship with GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump’s daughter.

The daughter of Democratic White House hopeful Hillary Clinton tells the entertainment show “Extra” that “I love Ivanka and I think friendship always trumps politics, and that’s how it should be.”

Clinton, 35, author of the new children’s book, “It’s Your World: Get Informed, Get Inspired & Get Going!” also says she doesn’t anticipate her relationship with 33-year-old Ivanka Trump, a former model who now works for The Trump Organization, becoming more challenging as the campaign wears on.

“It hasn’t been so far, and I don’t think that it would be in the future, because I’m friends with Ivanka for Ivanka, not for her parents or any other part of her life," she said.

The former first daughter also gave her mom props for her recent impression of Donald Trump on the season premiere of “Saturday Night Live.”

“I thought it was fantastic. I think my mom is hilarious,” she told “Extra’s” Terri Seymour.

“That’s what makes me so grateful about that moment,” Clinton added. “More people now are seeing she is really funny and I’ve known that my whole life.”
