(277 posts)He first criticized Hillary for her Libya policy and then said "We have to work with other countries in the region" That is exactly what she did. She did not initiate the intervention to Gad.and Libya. He was killing His own people...Do you all have amnesia about that time...I don't. Others in the region of our coalition begged her and the U.S. to help them as they had helped the U.S. in Afghanistan and Iraq. She agreed to help with our expertise in targeting the airstrikes. No American flew those flight (as far as I know) but supported the Coalition to stop his genocide. The same with her vote on the Iraq War authorization. She was assured that it was just a diplomatic move. He is not the "Purist he claims to be. He is fudging the truth to further ambitions. What a piece of work he is...dis-remembering for his own rhetoric.

In 2001, Sanders did not support the vote in Congress to oppose the war in Afghanistan. Congresswoman Barbara Lee stood alone! This vote was followed by his support for appropriations to support both the war in Afghanistan and Iraq. In 2003 he supported the resolution that gave support to George W. Bush in both Iraq and in the larger war against terrorism, although Sanders has been a critic of the Iraq War.
Then Sanders supported only a gradual withdrawal from Iraq. When impeachment was on the so-called table against George W. Bush in 2006, he said that impeachment was impractical.
Sanders, like his Democratic allies, has supported Israels aggressive Middle East policies against Palestinian statehood. He supported HR 282, the Iran Freedom Support Act, which was similar to the resolutions leading to the Iraq War. Indeed, it appears that Sanders is even to the political Right of many liberal Democrats!

Like to keep the current hypocrisy on a level playing field. Mr. Perfect isn't so perfect after all.
