What's going on there!?
sweetloukillbot
(10,972 posts)1) The cut the polls from 200 to 60, so there are massive lines
2) Independents who didn't know they couldn't vote are trying to vote and demanding provisionals.
3) Independents who did register did not have their party affiliation changed on the website, causing confusion (although they should still be able to vote and be counted.
4) Longtime Dems having their affiliation changed to Independent. I've only seen messages about this, and I've been a Dem since 1988 and didn't have any issues.
This is only in Maricopa County, where the longtime Country Recorder (who I never saw do anything fucked up before) decided to save money and consolidate polling places. Everywhere else people reported 5-30 minute waits from what I could tell. I waited almost 5 hours to vote, and there were still probably 3 1/2 hours worth of people still waiting. Seemed to be mostly Republicans around me in line, but there were a lot of vocal Bernie supporters. I have to give them credit for being willing to wait - no one was leaving the queue.

(1,968 posts)They just turned the county back to only early votes in, so I think somebody either jumped the gun or is wrong now.
As noted, Flagstaff is not a tiny town, so the number of votes seems too low.

Hill will win enough delegates in AZ to add to her delegate lead.
Looks like another victory prediction from Bernie didn't happen.

(10,972 posts)I had a friend who switch affiliations in early February, well before the cut-off, and it never got updated to the voting machines. She was allowed to vote provisionally though. I've heard of it happening in reverse as well, Democrats who were switched to Independent unawares. The whole thing was a mess, but I don't think it was a deliberate effort - I think it was incompetence and cost-cutting.
