about how votes in the South shouldn't count in the Democratic primary at all, I find the outrage ironic, to say the least.

I agree voting should be made far easier, but to blame Hillary Clinton for how the state of Arizona conducts its elections is absurd.

So now that the Bernie campaign and his supporters didn't get their way once again, here we go with the CS.

You all lost get over it & move on. Savor what you did win last night because Sanders has a couple more wins before he's toast.

New York is where his campaign loses it all.

Now chew on that.

Bernie supporters have accused the Clinton campaign of so many absurd "dirty tricks" that it's become a running gag.

How about they stop using this bad situation to smear Hillary, and give us the opportunity to join in a common cause?

affected both Hillary and Bernie. Ergo, the results wouldn't change.

What I suspect is that the low-information Independent voters who tend to support BS couldn't take time away from their Playstations to learn what the rules were in AZ, so they showed up at the polls and were told they weren't eligible to vote in closed primaries. Their presence and their refusal to walk away clogged up the lines and the process for the eligible voters who had the brains that the Indies lacked to get registered in a way that comported with the rules.

They have no one to blame but themselves. I'd say lesson learned, but Bernie supporters would rather point fingers at imaginary enemies than to self evaluate.

Purcell(R)..

Maricopa County election officials writing off voters? You bet

For weeks, some Democrats have been sounding the alarm about not enough polling places in Maricopa County for Tuesday's presidential primary.

They warned that reducing the number of polling places from 200 during the 2012 primary election to 60 would mean long lines and discourage people from voting.

They said the fact that some predominantly Latino areas got one or none polling places essentially translates into voter suppression.

Before, it was easy to dismiss their claims as pure conspiracy theories. It was difficult to fathom that Maricopa County election officials would purposely design a plan to keep people, especially minorities, away from the polls.

So we looked at an area, and factored into that how many early ballots we usually get in that area and how many people normally vote at the polls. We didn’t look at it as legislative districts. We looked at the overall picture of our voters.”

So, it is no coincidence many poor and predominantly Latino areas didn’t get a polling place. Purcell and her staff figured few of them vote anyway.

She just decided to discount them. Really.

I had no problems apart from the mammoth line, but I know one person whose registration and address were messed up - Dem who had been changed to Independent somehow. Another was an independent who registered as Dem well before the deadline and did not have her info updated. This was the first time I've had to sign a computerized tool rather than the registration log book as well.

Apart from some general skulduggery that predated yesterday's primary (as described in Cha's response), some just do not seem to understand that the overwhelming majority of Democratic voters actually LIKE Hillary Clinton and want her to be our next President.

The thing is that many - if not all - of Sanders voters also like and will vote for her in the GE because they are true - not faux - progressives and understand that the real enemy is the GOP.

These simple facts escape those who keep pushing "fraud" and other anti-Hillary memes on DU because they are so full of themselves in their own echo chamber and have ceased to deal with reality.

Wed Mar 23, 2016, 12:28 PM

Each states parties set the rules for their elections, some are open some are closed. If you do not declare your party ahead of the election in the closed states, you are not allowed to vote in that primary election.

Those are the rules, if you don't like the rules, get involved in the party and change the rules for the next election. I am sure from everything I have seen is that Arizona was just that voters didn't understand the rules of the primary election. That is as far as I am going to go because this is a pattern with the BSers.
