The obscure U.S. Export-Import Bank moved to center stage in Washington’s Democratic presidential contest, as Hillary Clinton and her allies chided Bernie Sanders for opposing the bank, which plays an outsized role in this state.

Speaking Tuesday at the Machinists union hall in Everett, Clinton said “I just shook my head” when Sanders joined conservative Republicans in criticizing the bank as a vehicle for corporate welfare..........

The bank is a self-sustaining federal agency that helps U.S. companies sell goods and services abroad by providing financing for exports, often in the form of loans and credit insurance at below-market rates. Interest on the loans finances the activities of the bank and its 400 employees.

In Washington state, the bank reports that 162 of the 238 exporters it has helped in the last decade — from Accor Technology in East Wenatchee to Zacklift International in Cle Elum — are small businesses..............

Worse, Sanders is holding another huge rally on Friday night - at Safeco Field (this, despite the fact that he just had a large rally in Seattle last Sunday). This is clearly akin to his strategy in Michigan, where much of his success was due to GOTV efforts - he held three rallies in three college campuses that are only in a 73-mile range in about 10 days, just to whip up college voters. Here, he'll have a combination of college students and young tech workers flooding the caucuses. It will be an uphill battle for Hill, and I admire the way she's doggedly going to visit targeted groups and making her case. I hope she has some success. Seattle, though, is getting younger, whiter, and more male, so I expect that to be reflected in the caucus results.

I'm also not thrilled that he's holding a rally downtown on Good Friday at rush hour- it will muck up traffic big time.

Note: I don't have any issue with GOTV efforts, it's good campaign strategy. With the caucus system, though, it clearly favors someone who is pandering to a young, aggressive base.

It's all for show anyway. Same stump speech, same Hillary slander, same "no effective answer to how the wishes will come true".
But whoa, he must be really something cuz he's forced himself in the newz.
A page from Trump's reality TV playbook.

The unchecked self ego will make a fool of ya.

Would that be a kick in the ass if, after all bernie's granstanding, Hillary wins WA State.

I think his opposition to the Export/Import Bank may well hurt him, and bring things at least a little closer. Meaning more delegates for Hillary.

A guy has spent at least the last 24 hours in a tree by Macy's and the whole town is transfixed. I don't think even another Bernie rally can compete with that.

With that said, she could still take Hawaii and Wisconsin. Also, late April will end Bernie's campaign.

Without the Im/Ex Bank, mid-sized and small companies would have trouble doing business in the developing world.

Exporting goods and services helps the US economy. Considering Mr. Sanders past, he clearly would not understand this.
