http://colombiareports.com/colombia-news/news/28649-colombias-eln-rebels-coexist-with-venezuelan-armed-forces-politician.htmlA Venezuelan politician claimed Thursday the armed forces of his country were turning a blind eye on Colombian ELN rebels on Venezuelan territory.
"The guerrilla columns march on the roads of Tachira [western Venezuela] like 'Pedro in his house,' in front of the complacient gaze of our armed forces," said Leomagno Flores, a Venezuelan opposition National Assembly representative for Tachira.
"In the Apure state, in the Barinas state, in the Tachira state, there is the...ELN coexisting with our soldiers, so I don't see 'Payaso' and 'Oso mayor,' who are the leaders of the guerrilla in Tachira, [conforming] to a politic of pacification or living in Colombia...because they operate with a criminal mentality although they are the leaders of the guerrilla," Flores continued.
The General Assembly representative said the presence of Colombian guerrillas and neo-paramilitaries in Venezuela's border areas with Colombia had led to increased insecurity and assassinations.

I make no assertions, OP does. The only links he/she provides are from RW sources. Taking in consideration that we are on DU, and definitely not on FR, its only normal to ask of independent sources.
So, if you have some do post them here.
P.S. Why is it not OK to post RW talking points when it concerns US, but perfectly OK when it concerns other countries? RW propaganda is RW propaganda, doesn't matter which country it is coming from. Keep that in mind if you (generic) want to be taken seriously.

(15,722 posts)that Venezuela has provided safe haven for Colombian narcoterrorists, but I suspect you are well-aware of that. All one has to do is Google "FARC" and "Venezuela" to find sources to satisfy your request.
IMO, if you choose to label anything critical of the Venezuelan government as "right wing", you may find your time in this forum not too pleasant. It is a naive and simplistic view of the political complexities in that region, and many posters who have expressed criticisms have spent some time in South America.
They are not persuaded that the Venezuelan government is as beneficent as it claims, and is enabling officials to line their pockets while declaring their political adversaries to be enemies of the people. One only has to see the photos Bacchus has posted of Diosdado Cabello's home in Caracas to recognize that widespread governmental corruption has flourished over the past decade.
Welcome to DU.

(7,362 posts)It seems like it would be a waste of time for me to post 10-15 links. If you would just list the acceptable news sources that would save us all a lot of time.
