Temple Hints At Origin Of Civilization In Peru
LIMA, June 18 (BERNAMA-NNN-ANDINA) -- Findings at the archaeological complex of Ventarron, including a small Mochica temple located 4 kilometres away from the district of Pomalca in Lambayeque, were described as a "laboratory of original architecture" by Peruvian archaeologist and investigator Walter Alva.
The pre-Hispanic site houses, all the architectural forms such as circular walls, curved walls, curved rectangular structures, altars for fire worship, among others.
Evidence for fire worship -the oldest tradition in America- is found at Ventarron temple, just as it was found in Caral, Kotosh, and Pirulo in the southern highlands.
This means worship was already practiced by our ancestors before gods' time, when some animals were depicted on the walls as part of nature.
"There was a time when human beings began to emerge and make very complex architecture, but they were not influenced by gods yet. After that, gods became popular in the Chavin era," he said.

(160,525 posts)I think a lot of Western people used to treat the Americas as if there was very little here to learn, or care about regarding the native people.
Without a doubt a residual effect of the deep racism that was vomited upon the shores with the arrival of the European killers and thieves who enslaved, tortured, terrorized, and slaughtered the people, finding them of absolutely no value whatsoever influenced choices made by later generations. People have to naturally see themselves as far, far superior to others to treat the ones so despicably who are guarding their own homeland and their loved ones, in order to thoroughly use to death, as the invaders steal their world.
The history of the invaders should bring their descendants nothing but deepest shame and horror, but even they remain strangely hostile, and racist in the way they perceive the impoverished remnants of once great civilizations.
A lot of people are turning their interest to the Americas now, and maybe it will help. You may recall reading last year about a land owner who hired a construction company to start destroying an ancient pyramid upon his property. They got busy right away and nearly tore every bit of it down before anyone could stop them.
In Mexico City, Walmart bribed local officials to permit them to erect one of their spiffy "super stores" within full view of the Temple of the Sun. If the Mexican officials hadn't been dirty, they could have NEVER built that rotten trash anywhere near that magnificent, irreplaceable world treasure.
Hope we all get a lot of new information about the Western Hemisphere's early citizens and their lives within our own lifetimes. Their stories, and our awareness of them is long overdue.

I found an old book in my aunt's bookcase about their drawings and reports and even though they could never fully convince
the government or themselves that the mounds were built by our Natives, they laid the ground work for others like Cyrus Thomas and
Wesley Powell to fund works that lead to the irrefutable truth that these intricate chambers, these mounds, were built by the
hands of those who occupied this land the earliest.

It is beyond sad when others see no problem in stealing a people's history...along with their intellectual, ancestral and material wealth.

(160,525 posts)Very interested in seeing the author held the belief that racism was behind their ability to wildly abuse the native people and steal their land. So hideous knowing how evil their point of view was, and their actions, and that there was no one who was there to come to the defense of the GOOD people.
It could drive people mad. I'm sure it did in those days.
I have read over and over again that in various areas stolen and occupied by Europeans, as they enslaved and murdered the indigenous people that there were MANY suicides by people who couldn't endure it any longer.
The "lost race" theory is almost enough to make one want to throw things around in his room, isn't it? Insane nastiness.
So ugly, so hateful. Oh, yeah! There must have been some mysterious WHITE PEOPLE who were here and built these structures, then they vanished, and maybe the First People killed them! Uh, huh!
