Solidarity Movements in Colombia to Demand end of Blockade of Cuba PDF Imprimir E-Mail
Bogota, Oct 22 (Prensa Latina) Colombian friendly movements will demand the end of the blockade of Cuba maintained by the US administrations, during a national meeting of solidarity with the island, planned to be held from October 30 to November 1 in Cartagena, organizers confirmed today.
Supporting the call by world figures and movements to abolish that blockade or group of measures will be one of the motivations for the meeting in the Colombian city, as well as demanding the return of the territory occupied by the US naval base in Guantanamo (Cuban eastern end), the organizers of the event told the news agency Prensa Latina.
Additionally, the attendees will defend integration of the Latin American and Caribbean countries during the sessions of the solidarity meeting, which will include talks on the updating of the Cuban economic system and the progress and challenges in the process of normalization of the Washing ton-Havana relations.

Representatives of all movements and houses of friendship with Cuba, as well as the foundation of solidarity to face natural disasters, devoted to sent aid to Cuba after cyclones and hurricanes, will participate in the 24th meeting of its kind, organized in Cartagena, Colombia.
