Castro is telling his hand-picked puppet/successor that he's going to have to sail some rough waters without his help.

Doesn't Maduro understand? The affair is over. His paramour has been seen stepping out with someone new, someone who brings nicer gifts, who can improve his paramour's lifestyle, in ways that he cannot.

I'll bet Diosdado Cabello is laughing his ass off, and saying "Better you than me, 'manuro.'"

Maduro or whatever the latest lie out of Caracas is. No, Maduro does not understand he is a patsy and the Castro boys don't give a shit about him. Thing about Cabello is he is unelectable.

But he would have been an entirely plausible successor to Chavez, certainly more plausible than Maduro, initially. There are all those pictures of the two of them in their military uniforms, hugging and smiling and plotting and planning. Old "God Given" -- like Hugo -- was a military man. The only uniform Maduro wore was the one Ralph Kramden wore!

I'm guessing there was a point in time where DC felt a bit piqued, but now I'm figuring (since he has most likely squirreled away a small fortune in money from drugs and just plain-old-robbing the people of VZ) that he has the attitude that he dodged a huge bullet. All he needs is a firm exit strategy, to a "no extradition" nation, if needs must!
