Bioiberica Nebraska has been cited by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration for 10 safety and health violations. Three violations are classified as willful.

OSHA alleges the company failed to protect its workers in Geneva from moving machine parts during service and maintenance. OSHA proposed penalties of $101,200 and also placed the company in the Severe Violator Enforcement Program.

The company, which employs 11 in Geneva, has 15 business days to comply, request an informal conference with OSHA’s area director or contest the findings.

"OSHA’s investigation found multiple violations that exposed workers to serious amputation risks,” said Bonita Winingham, OSHA’s area director in Omaha. “Workers servicing or maintaining machines or equipment may be seriously injured or killed if basic protections on machines are not provided.”
