Japanese Whaling Town Carves Up 29-Foot-Long Whale In Front Of Schoolchildren

Researchers check a minke whale at Ayukawa port in Ishinomaki
{researchers? researching what?}

MINAMIBOSO Japan (Reuters) - To mark the start of Japan's whaling season, workers in the coastal town of Minamiboso on Thursday carved up one of the animals as a crowd of grade school students and residents watched, with free samples of its fried meat handed out later.

The annual event took place in the district of Wada in the town some 100 km (62 miles) south of the capital, Tokyo, a week into Japan's first coastal whaling season since a global court halted the country's better known Antarctic whaling in March.

Though environmentalists condemn whaling, Japan maintains it is an important part of its food heritage. Wada is proud of its centuries-old traditions and takes pains to teach such local culture and history to its children.

Thirty-eight fifth year students from the town's primary school murmured and gasped as workers used ropes and a pulley to drag up a concrete ramp a nine-metre- (-yard-) long whale killed the previous night.

I'd like a few people to "check" those "researchers" in the same way - with or without spectators.

Yeah, that's the true level of "research" that the whale slaughterers (and their supporters)
are doing - killing for entertainment, frying the flesh of an animal with more intelligence than
the cook and posturing to brainwash the next generation of callous fuckwits into continuing
this disgraceful sham.

and pose for wire service photos so the entire world might see who is responsible, instead of sending a group of workers to do the dirty work.

Just because this country's government deliberately gave smallpox infected blankets to First Americans doesn't mean we should have opted to continue that tradition.

Why on earth was he given a brain, if it weren't meant to assist him in learning about reality, and right vs. wrong? It's time to have mercy on these beautiful, sentient creatures. NOW, not long after jerk-offs finally have seen the light on the fact it's monstrous to stalk and murder them.
