White House Warns Netanyahu 'Infammatory Rhetoric' Must Stop

Washington (AFP) - The White House warned Benjamin Netanyahu against "inflammatory rhetoric" Thursday after the Israeli prime minister claimed a Palestinian religious leader provoked the Holocaust.

Netanyahu on Tuesday suggested Hitler was not planning to exterminate the Jews until he met Grand Mufti of Jerusalem Haj Amin al-Husseini, a Palestinian nationalist, in 1941.

Responding sharply to the controversial claim, since pedaled back by the Israeli leader, White House spokesman Eric Schultz said, "I don't think there's any doubt here at the White House who is responsible for the Holocaust that killed six million Jews."

"We here continue to stress publicly and privately ... the importance of preventing inflammatory rhetoric, accusations or actions on both sides (that) can feed the violence."

I think I got unfriendled by someone (or maybe she just deleted the post) when mentioned that the sad total is 48 dead Palestinians to 5 Israelis adding that we are only get one side of the news on this here (not Palestinian).

I found a Mark Levin post (that this same FB friend shared) about Bibi's Hitler-excusing being correct. It was one of the most bizarre things I've ever read on the Internet. Wild rants citing "there's a documentary" and a History Chsnnel program as well as white hot hatred for all Arabs. I can't accurately describe it.

The international community needs to push back on that toxic speech.

What Bibi was saying with his Mufti codswallop was that the Palestinians wanted to kill Jews long before the occupation so, even if Israel ends the occupation, the Palestinians will still want to kill them. Therefore, settlement and eventual annexation of Palestinian territory (with as few Palestinians as possible) is justified.

Sadly, I expect to hear more and more on this theme from Netanyahu and his execrable government

I'm not a fan of Netanyhau, but I don't think its too far a stretch to consider that the grand mufti had influence over hitler. Look at what isis is doing to innocent Christians, Kurds, and Shias.

Adolf fucking Hitler did not need an Arab (remember Nazis were white supremacists) to tell him to kill Jews. The genocide against Jews had already begun.

Not a single credible historian will back up Bibi's Holocaust revisionism. They've all rejected it.

Also, your point about ISIS and the Mufti is completely bizarre. No one's disputing that some Muslims are vile bigots and murderers. There's no real historical connection between the Mufti, who was an Arab nationalist bigot primarily interested in killing Jews, and ISIS, an Islamist radical group who mainly kills other Muslims.
