it would probably be easier for Abbas to condemn the terror attack. It doesn't help that the Jaffa terrorist was executed after being neutralized either. It seems as if it's getting more and more difficult to squeeze apologies out Abbas.

I think Biden should put some pressure on Netanyahu and try to make him listen to sane people like Eisenkot and Halevi in the security establishment, who have proposed that improving conditions for Palestinians will help to curb the current violence. What Netanyahu is currently doing, is only making things worse.

The reports of the terror attacks came one after the other – Jerusalem, Petah Tikva, Jaffa, again Jerusalem, a roadblock in the territories, more than a dozen wounded, some of them serious. And that was just on Tuesday.

These attacks do not pose an existential threat to the state. People die in them, but we can live with them without the State of Israel being destroyed. Still, these attacks are intolerable. We cannot reconcile ourselves to this deadly phenomenon. They are the work of human beings, and they can be ended – or at least reduced – by human beings, particularly those currently in government.

Since 2009, talks with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas have stalled, while there have been several rounds of violence in Gaza. The only things that have progressed since Netanyahu returned to the premiership in 2009 are the number of settlers, Palestinian hopelessness, and international alienation from Israel and its policies.

Why do you think the Shin Bet and the IDF are constantly criticizing Netanyahu? It's simply because Netanyahu refuses to do what's necessary to stop the violence. It's not incitement that is the cause of the current violence, it's the political situation. If you want to stand firm with Netanyahu's calls for ever harder measures against the Palestinians, that's up to you, but it won't work.

That incitement, rewarding and praising terror attacks (honoring Hamas martyrs) go back to Arafat's day with Abbas as his #2 man during the Yitzak Rabin days.
