Israel Disappointed with U.S. Reaction to Hamas-Fatah Gov't

http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/181328

Israel said on Monday it was "deeply disappointed" by the United States’ readiness to work with a new Palestinian Authority (PA) unity government.

"We are deeply disappointed by the comments of the (U.S.) State Department regarding working with the Palestinian unity government," a government official told AFP.

"This Palestinian government is a government backed by Hamas, which is a terror organization committed to Israel's destruction," the official, who declined to be named, pointed out.

"If the U.S. administration wants to advance peace, it should be calling on (PA Chairman Mahmoud) Abbas to end his pact with Hamas and return to peace talks with Israel," the official said.

The Apartheid Picnic knows no shame. It will go to great lengths to crush any Palestinian unity and resume the status quo of farcical negotiations as it continues to eat the West Bank.

1. Netanyahu Condemns Europe on Stance Favoring Fatah-Hamas Unity

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu castigated European countries for their positive position regarding the unity government between the Fatah and Hamas movements, which is due to be announced later Monday.

"Islamic terror is raising its head in Europe, and the latest horrible manifestation of this was the abominable murder in the Jewish museum in Brussels," Netanyahu told the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee of the Knesset. "And I find it strange that governments in Europe that harshly condemn this murder, also speak with lack of clarity and even in friendly tones about a unity government with Hamas, a terror group that carries out and praises such crimes.

"I think the policy must be against terror, against the partnership of terror groups in the diplomatic process," he stressed, "because this thing does not strengthen peace; it strengthens terror."

Ten days ago, even as Israel suspended the peace talks with the Palestinian Authority (PA) after it signed a unity deal with Hamas, the European Union (EU) saw fit to praise the alliance.

The hypocrisy of the Israeli Government and Bibi Nuttinyahoo is astounding. On one hand it condemns the murders in Brussles while downplaying the murder of two Palestinian teens (one shot in the back) on Nakba Day: from the direction of IDF snipers.

No wonder it is running out of friends in the world. The boy who cried wolf is also acting like a belligerent asshole.

2. Erdan Slams U.S. 'Naiveté' Over PA Government

Communications Minister Gilad Erdan (Likud) on Monday evening criticized what he called the U.S. government’s “naiveté”, after the State Department said Washington was willing to work with the new Palestinian Authority unity government.

“Unfortunately, the American naiveté is breaking all records. Cooperating with Hamas, which is designated as a terrorist organization in the U.S. and which murders women and children is unacceptable,” he said.

“America’s repeated surrendering to the dictates of the Palestinians seriously harms the chances of ever resuming negotiations with the Palestinians, and Israel will take unilateral steps to protect its citizens from the terrorist government established by [PA Chairman Mahmoud] Abbas,” declared Erdan.

Erdan’s remarks were a response to a statement earlier by State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki, who said Washington believes Abbas has "formed an interim technocratic government... that does not include members affiliated with Hamas."

The Apartheid Picnic fears a unified Palestinian presence, and most likely will do anything to divide and conquer.
