Israel’s Justice Minister performs gay couple’s marriage ceremony despite official ban -
Israeli Justice Minister Tzipi Livni acted as a civil celebrant for the wedding of gay couple Tsach Sa'ar and Guy Arad on Monday despite Israel's ban on same-sex marriage.
The couple had a Jewish style wedding which included the tradition of breaking two glasses together and a chuppah a traditional wedding canopy.
Livni posted a photo of herself at her own wedding next to a photo of the couple at their wedding to Facebook on Tuesday to make public her role in it, adding, I was under the chuppah 30 years ago and yesterday.
Then, I had personal happiness and today my happiness can help make other people happy.

Israel already recognizes same-sex marriages performed elsewhere because of a 2007 Supreme Court ruling.
