Prop 8 - HBO Movie "The Case Against 8"

http://www.hrc.org/blog/entry/documentary-on-proposition-8-to-premiere-today-on-hbo

I enjoyed the movie, and I had heard a criticism from an LGBT activist or reviewer that they didnt have enough (hardly at all really) of the pro 8 people in the movie.

And I understand that now because you didnt really get a feel for the hate that was behind this proposition, and I wish they had exposed the people behind the hate and the money people, etc. Like the owner of Marriott Hotels, as I recall he was a big supporter of the hate proposition.

But, it was a good movie for what it was; it was uncomfortable wanting Ted Olson to win, given the horrors he has visited upon this country in the past, including helping W steal that election.

But without Ted, this may not have happened.

I think the movie should be followed up, 5 yrs later with the two main couples Kris Perry and Sandy Stier and Paul Katami and Jeff Zarrillo and their neighborhoods and friends.

See how many of their str8t neighbors marriages ended because they couldnt handle Gay marriage, or something absurd like that.

I thought it was great. What an amazing and unlikely legal team. PeaceNikki Jun 2014 #1

I understand the criticism about not excluding the hate, bit thought it did a great job at highlighting the love and support. A great bit of history and now the dominos are falling. Even here in Wisconsin. <3
