But it's used to treat either shingles scars or the pain that some people still feel after the shingles episode.

of my hands shaking a a leaf and my involuntary nerve twitches. So that is counter intuitive. I'm on Lyrica and Cymbalta. They make me lethargic, also. When the doctor tried me on a higher dosage of Lyrica I got severe vertigo and fell on the floor nearly hiitting my head -- not good...

I hope someone with some knowledge answers.

who claim it's not being done because of the vast pharmaceutical conspiracy. If you can find someone doing cold laser treatments for other conditions, I suppose it's worth a shot. However, the gold standard is in this article: http://www.webmd.com/skin-problems-and-treatments/shingles/news/20050725/best-treatments-for-lasting-shingles-pain

If you haven't been tried on lidocaine patches, ask why.

Capsaicin cream has also been useful for some people. Otherwise, it's heavy drugs until the pain starts to fade.

it got worse immediately. Shit. I really wanted it to work and it didn't. Oh, well.

What works? Wine with dinner is a winner. Of course, I wouldn't indulge during the day, but red or white wine is pretty good for this malady...

What it does is deplete Substance P in the affected area and with less Substance P, there is less pain over time. Put it back on and try it for a day or two. Just don't keep it in the bathroom where it's easy to mistake for toothpaste. Did that one. Glad I didn't have to go back to work that night.

by six am when I get up it's already not working. I'm in pain for several hours. I'll try to Capsazin but it gets awful so I'll take it closer to dinner, which is when I have the wine. I'm much better with that than with anyting and that worries me...
