I think I would want one closely affiliated with a good Medical College with a more immediate connection to research and a good record of getting patients into clinical trials.

My bro-in-law is a retired breast cancer surgeon. He has been reaching out to his friends and former colleagues. We're still waiting for responses.

But DU is my favorite place for quick and wide answers to a variety of questions. I know that I will find here many folks who have been in the same or similar situations.

Your chances of survival are greatest in those settings. Each year, there is a ranking of the best hospitals in various disciplines and by region. Make sure where you're going is at or near the top. Without knowing where you live, I cant tell you where you should go. I'm in NC, and Duke Medical Center saved my life 20 years ago when I had breast cancer; they are at the top of my list.
