(106,886 posts)The hills are getting emerald green though. I'm actually looking forward to another rain or two. Especially as the days grow longer. The valley has a real definite curve - chills down at night, but warms up pretty quickly through the late morning / afternoon. Then chills back down. And the wind comes and goes along with it.

(146,218 posts)It's green(ish) but not as lush as it usually gets this time of year.

(10,201 posts)It looks like a giant steamer.
You put wood chips in the pan, place the rack (pan with holes) on top, the put in what you are smoking. Put it on the stove top over high heat, and it will make the wood chips smoke away.
Cameron's is the best.

(146,218 posts)There is not a lot of smoke. Your hood should be able to soak it all up when you open it. Because it is such a tight and well sealed container there is not a lot at all.
On a boat, you could take it top-side to open if you have no hood.

(146,218 posts)I'm going to look into this. I love smoked meats but never thought I could do it here.

(146,218 posts)Are you making the cream puffs yourself?
Laurian
(2,593 posts)cream puffs. I buy the mini cream puffs from the frozen food section of the grocery store. The regular and chocolate covered ones come in 30 count packages and are often available as "buy one get one free" promotions. That's when I stock my freezer for easy dessert options.
Have a relaxing, enjoyable Sunday evening!

Our Organics basket was great this week. The chicken looks awesome (meat is a deep red), and the sprouts are perfect.

(32,074 posts)Got a great deal on some Bucheron goat cheese, so I made what is basically this recipe:

I made bigger pizzas, baked rather than grilled, and left out the fennel and Pernod/Sambuca.

Did I mention that I like goat cheese?
GoCubsGo
(32,074 posts)One of these years, I will try it on the grill, like recipe calls for doing. Maybe at that point, I'll be able to afford some Pernod.
