sauteed chicken breasts in red chile salsa, refried beans, flour tortillas, guacamole and pico de gallo. We are having a houseguest coming late tonight and wanted to have plenty of leftovers to feed him.

The hills are getting emerald green though. I'm actually looking forward to another rain or two. Especially as the days grow longer. The valley has a real definite curve - chills down at night, but warms up pretty quickly through the late morning / afternoon. Then chills back down. And the wind comes and goes along with it.

It looks like a giant steamer.

You put wood chips in the pan, place the rack (pan with holes) on top, the put in what you are smoking. Put it on the stove top over high heat, and it will make the wood chips smoke away.

Cameron's is the best.

There is not a lot of smoke. Your hood should be able to soak it all up when you open it. Because it is such a tight and well sealed container there is not a lot at all.

On a boat, you could take it top-side to open if you have no hood.

cream puffs. I buy the mini cream puffs from the frozen food section of the grocery store. The regular and chocolate covered ones come in 30 count packages and are often available as "buy one get one free" promotions. That's when I stock my freezer for easy dessert options.

Have a relaxing, enjoyable Sunday evening!

I am hopeful that we will get back towards the town next week.

Here is the list for next week:
4 cnt Yakima Fuji Apple
3 cnt Arvin Navel Orange
2 cnt Fall Brook Bacon Avocado
2 cnt Brawley Bulb Fennel
1 cnt Oxnard Leaf Lettuce
1 cnt Irvine Strawberries Berries
1 bu Capay - Our Farm Lacinato / Dino Kale

I would love to get some decent meat. Maybe I will do a little snooping around the internet today and see if I can find any similar service for meat.

Got a great deal on some Bucheron goat cheese, so I made what is basically this recipe:

http://www.finecooking.com/recipes/tomato-olive-pizzettas-fennel-goat-cheese.aspx

I made bigger pizzas, baked rather than grilled, and left out the fennel and Pernod/Sambuca.
