What's for Dinner, Sat., Dec. 27, 2014

I have a big pot of soup going: riboletta!

Salad for the day already made.

Going to make a chipotle marinade for some pork and put it on the grill later. It's a sunny, beautiful day here in NJ.

Trying to decide between crab and shrimp jambalaya, crab and corn soup, or crab lasagna. With a green salad and parmesan crostini.

But a lot of things probably need to be used today or pitched, they're getting a bit iffy.

I have two pecan pies in the oven (David Rosengarten's recipe). A trifle is in the fridge made with cubed panettone, vanilla custard sauce, sherry, raspberries, kiwi, whipped cream. Cooking beaucoup brussels sprouts with bacon, balsamic, and toasted hazelnuts. Many cookies. It's a potluck. Much merriment and probably 60 people, from 2 to 92 literally!

We moved into a harbor today because of some weather concerns and a need for water, so it is nice and flat and good for grilling. We are also getting some hilarious local television. Quite a treat!

The tangerine/jicama salad was great, so I'm going to repeat that and finish up the black beans and pico de gallo.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful Saturday!

My spanish is getting better and better. I never thought I would be bilingual, but it is actually happening.

It's not easy, but these silly comedies are definitely helping.
