What's for Dinner, Wed., Aug. 24, 2016

Soft-shell tacos made with chorizos. I also have salsa and guacamole for toppings. Will chop some red onion, too. Maybe I'll also grate some cheddar.

Tossed salad with romaine lettuce and chipotle ranch dressing.

A little pistachio gelato for dessert.

Bread---stale leftovers that I will toast and use as croutons.

Chickpea curry that I will have at room temp.

Dessert? I'm feeling a bit fruited out.....I think I will have some Goya Maria cookies spread with lemon curd.

Tomorrow I go to the cheap veggie place. Once a month I take my soup crockpot and dump cheap veggies and near expired cans, and, see what I come up with. I have some rotel, some beans, some hominy that need to be used.....think I might look for some sweet potato and peppers and onions and make a vegan chili.

I'll skip the rice and beans today. I think I've maxed that out for a while.

Pizza Gallery is a local independent Italian place that has an Art theme. Local art for sale is always on display, and they have a corner for kids to draw and play with various media. I got an individual "Haring" pizza, Buffalo chicken, Gorgonzola, and spicy sauce. Heavenly to taste such jazzy flavors! My husband had a "Renoir," which was also chicken, but with bruschetta topping, and also good (I tried that one too).
I'll be having hospital food in a few days (my mastectomy), so I'd better enjoy while I can.
