(2,396 posts)slow cooker. I started the hocks off separately this time due to excessive fat so the kitchen is a disaster area.
I've had to adapt to a low oxalate diet and found a lot of the stuff I can actually eat has roots in soul food.
I'm eventually going to get into more Asian cuisine for the same reason. It's fun to learn new foods
(Meanwhile, I look longingly at the potatoes my husband gets to eat *cry*).

(68,543 posts)It is surprising how good Shepard's pie is with instant mashed potatoes. I put the chicken, gravy ( in this case it was a wine flavored gravy yum) and veg mixture in a casserole dish add the potatoes...dot with butter and paprika .bake at 350 F until bubbly something about baking them in the oven gives a nice texture to the potatoes.

(20,969 posts)chicken dipped in butter. CRACKER coated(she used chez-its(sp)-sicilians use ritz). i use soda crackers. then bake in butter or for healthier, fry in butter. put a bunch of herbs & spices in the crackers.
