(32,829 posts)Harissa Coconut Milk Chickpea stew over red rice. Decafe tea.
The rice is dark red, goes to red-purple when cooked & tastes just fine to me with nice tooth texture. If I make this stew for company and I would, , I'd put it on a jasmine white rice. The mix of spices& tomato paste in the coconut milk makes it a medium brown. I did put broccoli bits for color, but it visually disappeared into the coconut stew.

(17,376 posts)The roast breast remnants provided a nice stock for the soup. Nothing special, turkey, carrots, celery, onion, garlic and some seasoning, plus flat egg noodles.
TJ is baking some cookies - Sugar cookies would be what I call them.
FLFC is sleeping soundly on the couch so his menu has yet to be planned.
TJ tells me FLFC ate a several baked eggplant slices last night. I wonder if that will happen again or he will turn his nose up the next time.

(58,785 posts)I was in a hospital once where the food was so famously terrible that I planned to subsist on coffee and hard boiled eggs, except those apparently weren't ruinable enough to offer.
Sleep well, eventually.

(58,785 posts)Everything sounds good, even though I've already eaten. Probably the cold weather the north's so kindly sharing.
NJCher's dinner reminds me that tomorrow I'm going to try the recipe on Epicurious for "Pan-Seared Tuna with Ginger-Shiitake Cream Sauce." Never made it before in spite of all its high ratings, but the name almost looks longer than the prep and I have everything in stock, except my shiitakes are dried.
