What's for Dinner, Thurs., Jan. 30, 2020

I'm staying home to watch the impeachment and will probably have broccoli soup and cauliflower pizza with shittakes and maybe a slice with eggplant. Lots of mozzarella.

We were invited to a Robert Burns (Scottish poet, lyricist) party tonight, and the RG is all dressed up in his kilt. He has the whole outfit:

even the Prince Charlie jacket and the sporran. I had to give him my flask, though, for the sporran. I must say he looks quite striking in his kilt, due to the fact that he looks like a cross between a younger Sean Connery/Kenny Rogers.

I declined to go due to hearing the menu, which was haggis. I'm sure you know what that is. Also because I have been having to listen to Scottish music all week and ahem, a little bagpipe goes a long way.

Also a $5 dollar off happy birthday pizza has been ordered.

Privileges of age I think. 👵🍕

Does he wear a dagger in his hose? I have semi-family that dress per the above for formal events...both were a dagger in the hose. For symbolic purposes only, you understand.

Just got back from my mom’s and discovered homemade tamales in my freezer! A gift from my sister-in-law who doesn’t make them but buys them from a friend who does. Very authentic and very delicious 😋 Probably nothing with them-trip to TJ’s on tap for tomorrow 😊

w/ baked potato and steamed broccoli.

That's it. Out of protein, out of veg, out of eggs, out of oatmeal, out of coffee, and quite a few other things. Today (1/31) is pay day, but Al needs to "check the budget" before we can go shopping. I get the budget thing, but no matter what, we HAVE TO EAT.

I'm a little pissed-off right now.
