Thanks for posting this live cam, too, ralps. Stella is a little sweetie. She'll be in good, loving hands. 🐈

(160,483 posts)as much, as she can draw strength from having her new big friends on hand to help her.
That video shows Stella has overcome so much fear in such a very short time with her guardians giving her food by hand, calmly, with gentle, respectful presence.
Looking at her just a couple of days ago you could see she was terrified by giant people, so frightened, with no real hiding place in that room. You could feel her fear. They've made so much progress for Stella.

(160,483 posts)He's used to helping people, by now!
I've read that he's the one she seems to trust the most.

(160,483 posts)I haven't slept, either, have looked in on her repeatedly.
I've noticed the last couple of times she has eaten all of her food fairly quickly, as if she's storing up.
Hope this beautiful kitteh will make it through easily, since she's already given birth before, and have an easy time later when they will help her get spayed and live without this unneeded stress repeatedly.
It's good she's with such caring people now, isn't it? 🐱

(160,483 posts)for the first time since last night. She lay upright, on her stomach throughout last night, and through the day, and today, went through the first period of licking her fur, as Grace did not long before she gave birth.
She was so large through the night it appeared she could start any moment. The fact they have opened her little nest for her makes me think they are watching her very closely right now.
Hope this feral precious kitteh will calm down and not fear the people who care for her going through this.
Good luck to Stella. 🐱

(160,483 posts)She undoubtedly has struggled every day with the pressure. I check in to see her continually every day and night.
Judi Lynn
(160,483 posts)day and all through the nights, expecting she would deliver any moment.
On Sunday, she has gotten up and walked around a lot, has visited her dishes, and even made a mighty leap to the top of the cabinets to find the precious grey soft pillow blanket. She also very gingerly slid down the side to try to make the easiest landing possible, some time later. People in the chat thread were all shocked to see her pull it off.
She has had a mighty appetite since Friday night, really wolfing down her food. Having just seen Grace starting to give birth, and then returning later, I realize this is an important time, as their new ones are seeking food almost constantly for quite a while after they are born. Probably so anxious to be close to mom and each other after being outside for the first time, they completely dominate and control their mom for an extended time. Stella will need that strength.
Of course it appears she can go any moment. She is in her "pre-labor contractions" stage. She has acquired so many friends rooting for her since she was brought in and put into her room to await her last delivery, after which, when she is completely back to normal, she will be neutered and free of this experience for the rest of her kitty life, in her forever home.

(38,537 posts)I think her discomfort has made her realize that the humans who come to see her can be very comforting. She may give up her feral membership yet.

(160,483 posts)Twinkles is the tiny calico, Stella's mini-me.
Nash is the tiny ginger, all orange.
Thomas is the name of the tiny white-faced ginger. He was named by the Vet Tech. who took charge as they worked to save him during Stella's C-Section. He was delivered blue-faced, and they all worked together to get him resuscitated (kittens absorbed some of the anesthetic from Stella) (two little ones didn't make it), as they all sang "Thomas the Tank Engine" together as they worked on him.
Mother Stella seems to be bouncing back beautifully, with the spaying she would have received months later, out of the way at the same time with the C-Section.
Wonderful little guys, beautiful mom, Stella, and so many friends. There were around 10,000 people online watching as Stella went into surgery.
