(11,065 posts)When I was a kid one of our old neighbors had some kind of bassett hound mix breed dog that was sort of semi-stubby legged and she sat like that. Only other dog I ever saw that sat like that. She was such a cool doggie. She had a big crush on my dad and tried to follow him every morning when he walked to the train station. I think she was instrumental in his finally deciding we should have a family dog. When she got older she got very fat, and when she sat like that she had a huge belly that nearly covered her whole legs... all that peeked out from under her belly was her toes when she sat. Apparently, she always sat like that her whole life but it didn't seem to be a problem at all. She was a lively doggie and still got around pretty darn well even when she got really really old.
Dogs can do the silliest things even when they aren't meaning to be silly. Biff must make you laugh a lot. I think that's just the best kind of dog to have.

(69,803 posts)DH calls him double dog. he shows no sign of any disability, tho when he runs he move in all three planes at once.
he is extremely sweet and easy going so far, which is a very empty niche in this pack.

(18,219 posts)Or is it a sometimes thing? Silly looking position, but one thing about dogs is that they do whatever they want without worrying about how they look.

(69,803 posts)he was indeed watching me scrape a duck carcass for scraps for to feed the dogs.
he does it frequently, and also has a half version of that that is a little more common among dogs.
he is just a nut of dog.

(69,803 posts)both the bullies are the sort of dogs that will eat anything. they graze all the time. they eat fruit, including melon rinds, tomatoes. they love eating corn cobs.
they are really good with my chickens, but i have to be careful about them sneaking the 'chicken garbage'. the other day i let biff win, and take a well picked over corn cob from the flock. but they didn't really like that idea. they followed him, and continued to peck away at it. he just looked around, dropped it on the ground, laid his head down and enjoyed hanging with the peeps. no problem.

(11,065 posts)You'd think he'd want to eat them, but he hangs out with them like he's one of the flock.

(13,458 posts)She's a BC mix, sits just like that on the couch, looks completely goofy and cute. I can't help but reach and rub her white belly when she's sitting like that, or grab a hind foot and try to play with it.
I just LOVE DOGS. Looking at your guy right now makes me want to reach in and rub his belly. So cute!!!

(69,803 posts)see the REST of that belly. big, giggly, and readily exposed for a scratch.
