but this is a slow moving forum I would admit.

So tell me - do you really think suicide is a genocidal act? You seem to be avoiding that question.

Here's another list that's longer than what you posted http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=about&forum=1255

The only reason you would want to post in the GCRA group is to disrupt or troll it, and you know it.

Here's a nice thread regarding safe haven Groups on DU http://www.democraticunderground.com/110224070

Have a nice day

Just pointing out facts

This is the post that got blocked with no warning

Yep
a lot of people here see gun owners that way

Obviously trolling and disrupting

It's fine for you to have a safe haven, just do not get all worked up when it is brought up here where all points of view are welcome. Here is the current blocked list.....

Number Blocked members
1 Hoyt
2 rdharma

* note rdharma has self imposed his exit from DU, so only really one block for all of DU.

I think this group is pretty inclusive and I am glad the host allows all views to be posted here. I am so glad RKBA group is not a "safe haven", they become lifeless and very boring echo chamber.

You too, have a nice day. I am glad you are allowed to post in this group. I enjoy the discussion.

about a person trolling a group. You can call me out but you will not call out the host for it. They blocked me and I do not care as it shows the differences of the two gun groups.
how about this, we are both not responsible for other peoples acts.

Point out to why my post in the other group should have gotten me blocked. I just am glad this group is not that way and you are still allowed to post and show the hypocrisy.

there are a lot around here that think that way and all you have to do is look at the name calling of firearms owners on DU. A fact pointed out is still a fact even when a host does not like it pointed out. I have seen all of those insults and name calling on DU pointed towards firearms owners and no condemnation from the other side, just agreement. A warning would have been nice but that is not the way it seems to be handled in that group. I probably would have just deleted the post if I was asked politely by one of the hosts. the name calling and ugliness is one of the reasons for the no guns part of the GD SOP that is always ignored, a lot of the time it just became name calling ugliness on one side of the issue. Notice how a majority of the people that ignore that SOP post anti-gun posts and one main poster is a host of one of the gun groups that the host allows to post here. I have seen a whole lot worse in that very forum (the other gun group), but since they have a safe haven to do broad brush attacks on firearms owners and have blocked any dissent. That seems to be OK with them and I am still glad this group is open to discussion, unlike the other one.

I like this OP advocating blocking posters in a group for something they posted in another part of DU. An even better way to limit speech in the "safe haven" group. So I could have been blocked even if I did not choose to post in that group by the OP, cool.

Blocking posters from this group should not be based solely on what they've posted in this group

Sun Jun 29, 2014, 03:52 PM

It is part of the Group's name.

If the Group was simply called "RKBA" then those types of posts could be trolling, but it isn't, so they aren't, no matter how much you wish they were.

Discuss gun politics, gun control laws, the Second Amendment, the use of firearms for self-defense, and the use of firearms to commit crime and violence.

In Internet slang, a troll (/ˈtroʊl/, /ˈtrɒl/) is a person who sows discord on the Internet by starting arguments or upsetting people,[1] by posting inflammatory,[2] extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community (such as a newsgroup, forum, chat room, or blog) with the deliberate intent of provoking readers into an emotional response[3] or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.[4]

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Troll_%28Internet%29

Yes some might fit that definition as they post without comment or discussion to try and provoke an emotional response and get posts hidden with the ultimate goal I think of getting users a time out or worse.

You do have quite a stock of cartoons, very nice.

And, don't dare mention the relative rates of suicide in Japan, which is virtually gun-free.

It's pointless to argue with them, they're deluded by misinformation and blinded by passion.

Sorry about your family members.

My only friend who served in Iraq later got into meth, ate his gun.

So, was it the gun's fault or the fact that he was ordered to bury people alive with his bulldozer blade equipped tank?

I always thought genocide had this meaning

It is a very specific term, referring to violent crimes committed against groups with the intent to destroy the existence of the group.
