ESPN news reportsA man shot and wounded a female parking lot employee Friday between the stadiums that are home to the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals before killing himself, police said.
Graves said the woman was taken to a hospital in critical condition. Officers found the man in a car, dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot. Both were in their 40s and knew each other, but police did not elaborate on their relationship.
Witnesses said the man drove into the area in a silver Cadillac, several shots were fired and the man then turned the gun on himself in the car.
Often in these domestic shootings the guy kills the girl and only wounds himself. I don't know which is worse.
One thing for sure, when it comes to relationships, guns are bad news for women.

Actually the guy normally kills himself so he doesn't have to answer to his crimes, but of course you knew that.

(8,142 posts)When you started posting again last week I checked a few of your links and they were the same as they always were. That your one link goes to an actual article is a shock to me.

(17,502 posts)its usually the woman shoots the guy. Guys tend to use more violent and humiliating means like beating.

(1,065 posts)But you're not interested in that especially if it disparages gun owners.

(17,502 posts)specifically, James D. Wright said it in an essay. The only study I saw that said any such thing, came from a Canadian gun control group. That could be the case in rural Canada, not so much in the US. Certainly not the case in places like Idaho, Wyoming, or New Mexico.
That is certainly true with every case I am personally aware of. for example, when I was third or fourth grade, one of my classmates shot and killed his step dad. Step dad was in a drunken rage beating mom to death, the kid loaded one of the house guns and abruptly put and end to it.
