General Brooks matter of fact approach to the alliance with South Korea and the security challenges presented by North Korea is a refreshing change. I think he would make a great US ambassador to Seoul. He discusses the recent shooting episode on the DMZ, the readiness of US and ROK forces in a reduced exercise context, the impact of Covid 19 on the alliance relationship, and the impasse in the cost sharing talks. General Brooks was the former commander of US Forces Korea and the UNC.
