#RiseUpOctober

"New York, NY – Thursday morning hundreds of people gathered in Times Square to launch a three-day nationwide protest dubbed #RiseUpOctober.

Families of victims of police killings, as well as activists, intellectuals, and celebrities, came together to kick-off the protest movement with a 'Say Their Name' rally. The gathering was held to commemorate the lives of people unjustly killed by police, with the names of around 250 men, women, and children who died at the hands law enforcement being read aloud."

There are similar uprisings in Native American communities and communities of color all over the world.

Alot of people are about to become very, VERY uncomfortable.

The momentum worldwide will definitely increase the discomfort level. And I'm loving it.

We raise our voices for the number of us killed but you're so right about Native Americans who are killed at an even higher rate. Goodness, I was brought to tears a few weeks ago when I saw a photo of Palestinian youths holding up a Black Lives Matter banner. We're with you, they said actually smiling.
