Gangs of New York by Herbert Asbury.

Interestingly enough, I was really bored with this book. I don't know how that happened though. Riots, stabbings, guns, fire, etc. You'd think that it would be more interesting...(also questionable as to how much actually happened.)

I'm not so sure I'd recommend it. It dragged quite a bit for me. You know, it was a count down. "50 more pages!" "40 more pages!" And so on and so forth.

The forward itself tells you to take it with a grain of salt. And comparing that violence with today's violence... I think cops have more control then they used to have. I'll just say that.
