Suspect in custody in alleged assault of V. Stiviano
The New York Police Department has taken into custody a suspect in the alleged assault of V. Stiviano, a person familiar with the investigation told USA TODAY Sports.
The person said they were not authorized to publicly speak on the matter because Stiviano has not identified the suspect and the investigation is ongoing.
RECOVERING: 'Her face got pummeled'
Det. Martin Speechley, a spokesman for the NYPD, told USA TODAY Sports: "The latest we've got is that we're talking to a person of interest."
Stiviano, at the center of the Donald Sterling saga after recording a conversation that caught the Los Angeles Clippers owner making racist remarks, was in New York for a scheduled appearance with CNN's Anderson Cooper when the alleged attack took place Sunday.
