(31,167 posts)2. The $61 million question ... is he worth it?
I'm not sure of that answer quite yet.

Has a lot to prove still.

(31,167 posts)5. He admitted as much yesterday:
"Progressions, getting through reads, making better decisions in certain situations," (Kaepernick) said. "Those are always things you're trying to improve, and it's always easier in hindsight to say, 'I should have done this. I could have done this.' But it's something you try to work to make sure, in hindsight, you're making the right decisions."
From Ann Killion's fine column today in the S.F. Chronicle: http://www.sfgate.com/49ers/article/SF-49ers-are-betting-Kaepernick-will-reach-elite-5530061.php
All it will take is one firm hit on either knee and the running dimension is gone. It will happen -- bet on it. How well he adjusts rests on those better reads and decisions.

Probably was better in 2012...not sure the guy will be worth it.

(31,167 posts)8. Well, he's identified the areas of improvement important for any young QB ...
so that's a good place for him start. Speed and strength take you only so far as an NFL quarterback.
Meanwhile, the 49ers defense and Bruce Smith get another year older.

(56,177 posts)9. I do think he has his head screwed on right...
But it seems like defenses have figured him out, sort of like Michael Dick...and Dick cannot adapt...we'll see if Colin can.

(31,167 posts)10. That where the reads come in. As for improv ...
he can take lessons from these guys:

My daughter and her hubby both had him as their fantasy QB's last year (separate leagues). As Einstein once said
