Quick returned to his 2012 form last night, and the Kings will not be needing a game 7 this round.
There was a decided power imbalance between conferences this year. IMO the only EC team that was a viable contender was the Bruins. Meanwhile, any of LAK, ANA, CHI, COL or SJ would have had an easy time in the finals with anyone except the B's.
I love NHL hockey.

(16,336 posts)last night was total domination by the Kings. I think the Rangers only chance, was to steal a game in LA while the Kings were still recovering from the Blackhawk series. Love hockey as well. My 3 teams in order are Blackhawks, Bruins and Kings. Been a damn good run the last 5 years! But I watch the playoffs even if my teams aren't involved...

(39,369 posts)Definitely a no-bullshit team that you don't mind losing to, which is rare in hockey. They play with such force and they can do it for 60 minutes, or 80 or 100...How the Rangers managed to miss every opp'y to win at least one of those three OT games is something I'm still processing.
I loved being able to watch my team play at a phenomenal level well into June. To me, there's no better sport than hockey right now, in terms of individual talent and the quality of team play. When your team gets to go this far, it's really special, win or lose.

(29,322 posts)When my Coyotes made it to the WCF it was a very special ride. Nearly every game of the Chicago series went to OT, nearly every second was intense and nerve wrecking which is rare in other sports. In football or basketball you can relax a little bit.
Even though it was painful and especially I felt their window was closing I didn't mind losing to the Kings. It was like facing the offense Chicago had and the defense in Nashville in the same series. Quick is simply amazing.
