Fox News brings on NFLs Terry Bradshaw for Benghazi analysishttp://www.rawstory.com/rs/2014/06/18/its-come-to-this-fox-news-brings-on-nfls-terry-bradshaw-for-benghazi-analysis/
Fox News on Wednesday continued its multi-year obsession with the terrorist attack in Benghazi by inviting NFL football analyst and former quarterback Terry Bradshaw to weigh in.

"Do you trust Hillary Clinton?" the Fox News host asked Bradshaw.
"Not really," he grimaced. "Dont particularly like her, never have. The best thing to do here because shes selling a book the only reason shes on Fox is because shes promoting books."
"I always say this, if you tell the truth, you dont have to worry about covering up some other story," he continued. "The truth sets you free. Just tell the truth. And now you can hang it youll never forget it, and it becomes your foundation."
Bradshaw opined that "if shes going to decide to run for president, shes going to have to answer for the Benghazi deal."

As I replied there, I had been feeling sorry for Bradshaw considering his recent Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy diagnosis, but now ... no way. Stay out of politics, douchebag. Even with CTE you should know better.

(39,370 posts)I hope he has a miserable Election Night 2016, followed by eight years of trying to not to get fired for saying what he really means.

so?

But even with his injuries he knew what he was doing.
It's always been my position that sports and politics don't mix. If it's a retired athlete or sports figure, fine -- they can do whatever the hell they want. But if it's one still actively engaged in playing, coaching, commentating or reporting, stay out or keep it quiet. Opinions, especially, are unwarranted, unwanted, and irrelevant on the national stage.
I never cared for Bradshaw's act and can't stand him on the FOX NFL pregame show either.

(29,322 posts)Especially since sports involve politicians on a daily basis when it comes to renovations and/or new stadiums or judges handing down rulings on previous agreements -- http://www.azcentral.com/story/money/business/consumer/call-12-for-action/2014/06/18/judge-strikes-rental-car-tax-stadiums/10723905/ or NCAA athletes recent victories in court cases. Sports are already heavily mixed w/ politics.
I also support anyone's right to an opinion no matter their profession. I can't imagine there are too many people that "vote like Mike" (or Lebron or whoever) but let them say what they want and if you agree or disagree, that is your right too. What the NBA on TNT crew said during the WCF which happen to take place in Phoenix during the height of SB1070 was terrific, I found myself cheering and not too many if anyone else would have been brave to take the stance they did w/ the platform they had. There is the 'rub' where you don't want to lose your audience which I respect as well.
We'll probably have the same disagreement 3 years from now as well.

To reiterate, if Bradshaw was out of sports completely, I'd have to agree he'd have the right to say any dumbass thing he'd want.
You'd have to file response to judicial actions and rulings in another category. Comments regarding the business side of sports are expected.

(107,936 posts)Since political pundits Rush Limbaugh and Dennis Miller were once on Monday Night Football they felt turnabout was fair play hence Terry Bradshaw's Benghazi analysis. All three were epic failures as far as I'm concerned.
