Related: About this forumBill Belicheat at it again?
After Rex Ryan heard Mike Pettine believes the Patriots may have had a Jets defensive playbook, Jets head coach did something completely unorthodox: he defended Bill Belichick.
Pettine recalled to MMQB.com that at Wes Welkers wedding in 2012, Tom Brady bragged to then Jets outside linebackers coach Mike Smith that the Patriots maybe had a couple Jets defensive playbooks.
It didnt shock me because Rex would give them out like candy anyway, Pettine said. He gave one out to (Alabama coach Nick) Saban and I was like, Dont you know Saban and Bill (Belichick) are pretty good friends? I have a feeling its going to end up in New England.
Of course, the story draws up memories of Spygate, when the Patriots video taped Jets sideline signals, but Ryan didnt believe the Patriots were at any fault in this case. Ryan, fired up at Thursdays minicamp press conference, was miffed at Pettine for telling the story and felt that to say New England had an advantage over the Jets was insulting to Belichick and Co.

The pats are 2-2 in the last two years against the Jets and 22-6 against the rest of the NFL.
