He could have went to the Vancouver Grizzlies and had a coach which you could make a strong case for greatest of all-time.

Plus opting just means flexibility. He can go back to the Heat w/ a back heavy contract. So what he goes for a better opportunity to win championships.. how many players left their original teams to play for the Spurs?

LBJ wants to ditch Miami. He has had more success there than ever (going to the Finals in consecutive years and having an elite squad backing him up), and he is still getting paid his millions there. Is he just tired of playing there?
Lately I've seen quite a few questionable decisions in the NBA between this, Carmelo Anthony, and the Warriors firing Mark Jackson after him producing the most wins they've had in years.

no one else will pay them that kind of money anymore, and those contracts will prevent Miami from bringing in the kind of talent James needs around him to win another championship.

Before long, they'll become the Cardinals fans of the NBA.

When Duncan was drafted by San Antonio, he already had a future Hall member playing with him in David Robinson. San Antonio then proceeded to surround him with another future HOF member in Tony Parker for the 2003 season. There's never been a reason to leave that team since it's so well run.

Cleveland had 7 years to build a team around LeBron. The best they could do when he was there was Antawn Jamison and an aged Shaquille O'Neal. We've seen since he left that organization is still dysfunctional. People like to criticize LeBron because he left, but don't understand the reasons why. Players like Kobe and Duncan never had to worry because the organizations they played for were top notch.
