Missing OSU football player found dead near campus

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Police say a missing Ohio State football player has been found dead, apparently of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Police tell media outlets the body of 22-year-old Kosta Karageorge (KOH’-stah KAHR’-ah-jorj) was found near the campus Sunday. The senior defensive tackle was last seen at his apartment in Columbus early Wednesday, when his roommates said he left to go on a walk.

His mother told authorities he has had several concussions and a few spells of being extremely confused. According to a police report, she said Karageorge texted her the morning he disappeared and said, “I am sorry if I am an embarrassment.”

Karageorge is a former Buckeyes wrestler who joined the football team as a walk-on this season.

I have to ask if he was still playing with those concussions...and what kind of treatment he got...they apparently can mess up the young and not just older players who have had them over a lifetime...RIP Kosta.
