Who's eliminated - mathematically and should be.

Week 13 didn’t provide much clarity to the playoff picture. There are now five AFC teams tied at 7–5, three NFC teams are 8–4 and, with the Patriots and Cardinals losing, the race for the No. 1 seed in both conferences is now wide open. Even the 2–10 Buccaneers haven’t been eliminated yet.

To simplify the whole thing let’s instead try to figure out who has no realistic shot at winning the Super Bowl.

First of all, we must eliminate all six teams who have been mathematically eliminated from playoff contention. Goodbye Jaguars, Jets, Raiders, Titans, Giants and Washington.

Next we eliminate the NFC South, because let’s be reasonable. So long, Falcons, Saints, Panthers and Buccaneers.

Next we dump any team that has a losing record against the NFC South this season. You’re an embarrassment, Steelers.

Next we dump any team capable of losing to the Raiders. Whoopsies, Chiefs!

And now we shed any remaining team that are not even above .500. Fare thee well, Texans, Bears, Vikings and Rams.

we are just moving Clay around to keep them guessing & it's working! With Aaron at QB and defense hard to pin down, we've got a good shot at it.

You've got a fairly easy schedule too -- Falcons / Lions at home and Bills / Bucs on the road. Eagles and Cards face tougher schedules. With the 49ers pretty much out of it I'd like to see the Pack or Cards go all the way.

Trestman has tried to take a gunslinger and make him a ballet dancer, and is trying to turn two 6'5" 240 pound wide receivers and turn them into Wes Welker.

The whole concept has gone south on offense and the defense is dreadful.

I saw that on the wall in the end zone at the Meadowlands.

But not really sure.

I normally don't include the "football" but it seemed fitting for this post.

He was wasted for one of these MNF games and he famously announced the team as "The New York Foootball Giants"...

I tried to find the clip but no luck...

It's pretty funny if you can find it...

Thanks for the info.

I just thought it was to distinguish between the football team and when they had a New York Giants baseball team.
