This is about where Sox fans were in the decades leading up to 2004. And the Cubbies are about where the Royals were last year: newly arrived on the scene, with a damn good young team (although you'd never guess that this week!). And, unlike the Royals, they can afford to keep their guys (think Greinke). So it could very well happen this decade.

And hey, they knocked one in in the fourth. Maybe Greg Abbott will tweet "Congrats @nymets"! After all, Thor Syndergaard is from Texas.
