Abby Wambach announces her retirement from soccer

Its official: Abby Wambach is retiring.
Soccers international leading scorer and one of the greatest players of all time finally made the announcement Tuesday afternoon following the U.S. women's team's visit with President Barack Obama to celebrate the summer's Women's World Cup victory.

Wambach will retire at the end of this year once all the World Cup victory tour matches have been played. Her final game will be on Dec. 16 against China PR in New Orleans.
Wambach played for the national team for 15 years, amassing 252 caps and 184 goals. She won two Olympic gold medals (2004 and 2008), as well as the 2015 Women's World Cup.
