BMX racing - do the rules require you to finish with 2 wheels on your bike?

It's looking brutal - in one heat 2 riders crashed, and one of them then got the front wheel of a following bike in his head (with helmet on - for a while he wasn't moving, but he got up, but has had to retire). In the next heat, one rider had such a crash that it broke his front forks. So he picked up the remnants of his bike, and limped about half way round the circuit and across the line carrying it.

I don't think I've seen a sport with such a quick injury rate.

Update: no, just 1 wheel is fine. He competed in the remaining heats, and even advanced to the semi final. He could pedal the bike fine, but still limps.
