Fucking Italy.

But Suarez, yeah, no more Cup for him. Too bad for Uruguay, but that merits a major suspension.

Suspect that Liverpool will be screwed, seeing as their best player will (hopefully!) be suspended for a very long time.

No sympathy for Suarez at all here. He's an unrepentant cheat who has a track record of bringing the game into disrepute.

How much precedence is there for a ban in international football carrying over to club football?

I can't recall, but I suppose FIFA could so decree.

"These are exceptional circumstances, it is the third time he has bitten someone. It is ridiculous.

"I think Liverpool will be panicking, they have a player worth maybe £60m and could be banned for the whole season.

"Three strikes you have to be out. Biting someone at a tournament of this prestige, they have to throw the book at him and lock him up forever."

FIFA can sanction players for biting with bans of up to two years.

It's got to be a lifetime ban, if not also jail time, at this point for Suarez. He is an absolutely brilliant footballer, but at the same time he is clearly just not capable of controlling himself well enough; it's like he simply can't remind himself "it's just a game."

FIFA has simply got to do the right thing and impose a lifetime ban on him. If it were his first infraction, yeah ok a lengthy suspension might suffice. However, this is the THIRD TIME he's physically assaulted someone on the pitch, and this time the whole freaking world got to see it!! Enough is enough, already!

Suarez OUT.

But Uruguay was convincingly beaten by Columbia and are now out of the tournament.
