Lazio region, Italy - suggestions for sights, food and fun!

Will be in a small and very rural area for the summer and looking for any suggestions.

I love to eat and cook, so markets, local farms and restaurants are always of interest to me.

Will have access to a car as well.

This is my kind of trip - settle into an area and live there for a while.

Anyone who has been there and has ideas, I would absolutely love to hear from you.

That's a trip I've never taken. Did rent an apartment here, for a couple of days, but I don't recall that it looked quite so polished! (Was driving around France w 2 kids for a few weeks, at the time.)

Rome is in Lazio, of course!

The train station is about 30 minutes away, so we don't have to drive into Rome, which is good.

I hope you are able to return to Toulon one day!

which I guess is within Toulon district. Le port du Brusc. Somehow found this rental. Don't know that I'll return there, but would like to visit Marseille, which I've missed! GOOD you don't have to drive into Rome! THAT one, and Florence, almost ended my marriage! (on our honeymoon!)

Was driving around France, on family France trip, so hit this coastal town.
