I am tired-

of the idea that all politicians need to pay lip-service to god.
God bless you, and god bless the United States--AHHHHH AHHH AHHH

I do not believe for a minute that they believe this nonsense.
it is a fake borne of necessity--I get it. I do--
So-for anyone who thinks that we are well-represented-let me say--Americans would rather their daughters marry a Muslim than an atheist. This is not an insult to Muslims, by the way.

It is a truth that a leader of this country needs to bow to the religious--it is just so.

I THINK- that some only pay lip-service to it.

This is not a bad thing. They are sacrificing a bit of truth for a lot of public good.

Probably-but he would not have dogma to back up his assholery.
I believe you, though--an asshole with excuses is double the asshole.

speeches, but they remain the exceptions and not the rule.

However, that they did it at all is a sign of progress, imo. I also think that almost removing god from the platform is a sign of progress.

If we keep working on it, I think we will see some much bigger changes in 4 years, including more acceptance and less discrimination against all kinds of religious and non-religious people.
