acceptable to humans with anything resembling critical thought.

And since "god did it" just doesn't cut it anymore, does it spell the end of deity worship? I hope so. We are ready, as a species, to move beyond such childish ideas.

And the GOP governors who sign into law the idiotic bills that utterly destroy science education in their states.

Jindal says that the GOP is acting stupid after signing a similar bill into law in LA.

Mind numbing hypocrisy.

an effort to control people through fear and superstition. And while it may have immediate, short-term effect, in the end, it all gets overturned and people see it for what it is; Opiate for the masses.

that the creationism scam is but one religious belief.
The ancient and some present Hawaiians have a chant that takes the Earth's and life's creation into consideration.

Here is a magazine article about the Kumulipo explaining it in an easily digestible manner:
http://www.mauimagazine.net/Maui-Magazine/November-December-2008/Into-the-Source/

In a truly free culture that practiced freedom of Religious belief, the Kumulipo would be a respected teaching.

The fact that Religious fundamentalists feel that they are the only belief to be taught is very bad, unconstitutional and shows a downfall of our society.
Their goal without a doubt is to replace our government with a Theocracy where their belief would be the controlling law in the United States. We must prevent that at all costs.

It is great to have a young person from the South actively fighting this and being successful.

We need more of him.

Articulate, objective, gets the big picture - separation of church / state. Admire his willingness to put himself out there and commitment to the long haul, at 19 while handling a course load at Rice.
